Frequently Asked Questions

A thoughtful, guided experience from concept to completion

Commissioning a custom mural is both an artistic collaboration and a carefully guided process. Below you will find answers to common questions about design, scheduling, materials, and installation. I look forward to learning about your space.

  • Each project begins with a 50%  deposit to secure your place in my design and production calendar. This allows me to dedicate focused time and studio resources to your project.

At booking, we’ll review your desired timeline. Most custom murals and decorative finishes require approximately 6 to 12 weeks from design kickoff to installation, depending on scope. In certain instances, I can accommodate a time-sensitive request. Please inquire. https://www.celadonstudio.com/contact

  • Every mural is custom-designed specifically for your space.

    The design phase includes:
    • Mood boards and creative direction
    • Digital Renderings
    • Multiple concepts to review
    • Two rounds of refinements

This collaborative process ensures the final design feels fully aligned with your vision, architecture, and interiors.

Select projects also include hand-painted samples and a dedicated paint palette.

  • Two rounds of revisions are included to thoughtfully refine your design. Additional changes can always be accommodated and are billed based on scope.

Timely, consolidated feedback helps keep your project moving smoothly and on schedule.

  • Once I’ve perfected your design, you’ll receive a Design Approval Form confirming artwork, palette, and project details. After approval, production begins.

As each mural is painted entirely by hand, subtle variations add character and authenticity to the finished piece.

  • Digital Samples are sent via email using Google Drive. Painted Samples may be reviewed onsite or shipped directly to you. Expedited options are available when needed.

  • Each project is custom quoted based on scale, complexity, surface conditions, architectural detail, access, and timeline. Following an initial consultation, you will receive a detailed proposal outlining mural design, sample process, prep, and installation. Because every mural is uniquely conceived and entirely hand-painted, pricing reflects both artistic development and skilled execution.

  • The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion. For longer projects, progress payments may be arranged.

  • All designs remain the intellectual property of Celadon Studio and Fine Art. Exclusive, one-of-a-kind commissions are available upon request.

  • Prior to our start date, the work area should be cleared of furniture, personal items and breakables prior to start date. Access to electricity and water is required.

If your schedule shifts, simply let me know as early as possible, and we’ll adjust accordingly.

  • Your project time is reserved exclusively in my calendar. I work carefully and respectfully within homes and job sites, coordinating closely with designers and contractors to ensure a smooth experience. To ensure a smooth start, we ask that construction and room preparation be completed prior to our scheduled date. If delays arise, the project may need to be rescheduled for the next available opening.

  • Murals are priced to be painted on the surface as it exists at the time of installation. If base coat adjustments or exterior preparation, such as power washing, are required, I can recommend a trusted professional painter to prepare the space prior to our scheduled start date. Proper surface preparation ensures the longevity and integrity of the finished artwork.

  • The work area is carefully prepared and fully protected prior to painting. Once installation begins, you’ll see steady progress each day. I check in at the beginning and end of the day as needed to ensure everything feels seamless and on track.

At the close of each day, all paints and materials are stored neatly on-site. Upon completion, the space is thoroughly cleaned, and all prep materials and project debris are removed. Final paint colors are documented for any future touch-ups.

  • I use professional-grade, nontoxic, and low-VOC paints and products whenever possible to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.

For specialty finishes such as gold leaf, certain topcoats, or select oil-based products, materials will always be discussed and approved in advance.
